Fish cutlets
Our fish patties are almost like grandma’s. The lightness comes from the bread crumb, and the tender taste from the cream. You can prepare patties from pike or any other fish you like in the same way.
INGREDIENTS
- Cod fillet — 500 g
- Onion — 1 head
- White bread — 120 g
- Milk — 150 ml
- Heavy cream — 100 ml
- Chicken egg — 1 piece
- Wheat flour — 100 g
- Salt — to taste
- Ground white pepper — to taste
- Vegetable oil — 50 ml
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prepare all the ingredients.
- Soak the white bread crumb in milk and leave for 5–10 minutes.
- Chop the onion as desired and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
- Cut the cod fillet into large pieces.
- Mince the cod through a meat grinder, followed by the onion and bread.
- Add the egg, cream, salt, and white pepper to the minced mixture and mix well.
- Cover the patty mixture tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30–40 minutes.
- Form the patties and coat them in flour.
- Fry the patties in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown.
- Then transfer to a baking sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 15 minutes.
- Serve the fish patties hot.
